A film about the fast paced, unfulfilled lives of three young professionals; Fran, a fashion model who yearns to become an actress; Michael, a successful investment banker who lives with Fran but is unable to make a commitment to her; and Paul, a commercial photographer who is Michael’s friend and Fran’s lover. The film uses an innovative vocabulary of images and styles to accentuate the emptiness of their lives and relationships. As Fran grows to realize the destructive nature of her relationship, the film reveals the deeper morass of the materialistic world in which these characters exist.
